Joint University Preliminary Examination Board is a national examination board approved by the Federal Government to conduct examinations for students with approved subject combinations for direct entry admissions into tertiary institutions. Candidates would be admitted to 200 level in any university of their choice that is affiliated to the JUPEB programme after fulfilling the conditions for admission as required by the university of their choice. At the end of the programme certificates of Direct Entry admission would be issued to the students.
It is a National Examination body saddled with the responsibility of conducting examinations for students, who have undergone approved subject combinations and are seeking Direct Entry admissions into 200level in any Nigerian and partnering foreign tertiary institutions.

HISTORY OF JUPEB
JUPEB programme is intended for candidates aspiring to secure admission into 200Level in any Nigerian University through Direct Entry (DE). JUPEB is approved by the Federal Government of Nigeria in December 2013. It was formally established in April 2014 by a consortium of ten (10) partnering universities led by the University of Lagos.
The Programme shall run for one academic session of two semesters beginning from January, 2018 to July, 2018. During this period, students would be exposed to a broad based intensive training which would prepare them for the JUPEB examination.
JUPEB certificate is accepted in over 95% of the universities in Nigeria for direct entry (DE) admission into 200 level.
JUPEB certificate does not expire.
The months of studying for this programme equates the period of time spent in 100 level of any university which simply means you don’t have to waste time applying for 100 level admission.
Option to pay fees gradually throughout the period of study.

Candidates must possess a minimum of 5 ‘O’ level credits (SSCE/WASCE/NECO/GCE/NABTEB), including English Language obtained at not more than two sittings in subjects relevant to their proposed courses in the University of Choice.
